Manchester United striker Federico Macheda, who is currently on loan at QPR, has said that he will one day like to return to his former club Lazio.
Manchester United secured the services of a young Federico Macheda from Lazio many years back by paying a small compensation fee. Even though it left Lazio fuming at the actions of the English club, it now seems that they will be able to get back their player after all.
This after Federico Macheda revealed that he has the hopes of playing for Lazio one-day in his career. Federico Macheda is currently on loan at London club at QPR after Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson stressed that the Italian needs more experience to play for Manchester United.
It has been a tough few years for Federico Macheda, who made his debut for Manchester United in the most spectacular fashion. He scored in the match against Aston Villa on his debut to help United to victory in the most difficult circumstances. Since then, though, he has been spending time on loan at various clubs including a loan spell back in Italy with Sampdoria. Still, he has not become first-team regular at Manchester United, which has also posed questions regarding his future at Old Trafford.
“I’d like to come back to Lazio in the future, I always said it, but I don’t know my future yet. I have a contract with Manchester United until 2014, but in June I will end the loan and we will see,” he told Corriere Dello Sport. Federico Macheda has a contract that runs out next summer and it will be interesting to see if the Italian will be interested in renegotiating in signing a new deal with the club, for whom he is yet to feature on a regular basis.
