FEDERICO MACHEDA: LOAN CAREER REVEALED

Italian striker Federico Macheda has spent time on loan at various clubs during his career as a professional footballer. His first club as a professional footballer was Manchester United. Federico Macheda got his breakthrough at the Theatre of Dreams after he came off the bench to score the winning goal on his debut.

Federico Macheda scored the third Manchester United goal to help the Red Devils come from 2-1 down to beat Aston Villa 3-2 at home. The Italian player was sent out on loan six times as a Manchester United player. Macheda scored four goals in 19 appearances for the Red Devils during his six-year spell at Old Trafford. Federico Macheda was a Manchester United player from 2008 to 2014.

Macheda was sent on loan to five clubs and in six different spells. The Panathinaikos player sent on loan to Doncaster Rovers twice during his time at Manchester United. Federico Macheda was on loan to clubs such as Italian Serie A outfit Sampdoria, London club Queens Park Rangers (QPR), German Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart while he was at the Theatre of Dreams.

At Sampdoria, Macheda failed to find the back of the net in 14 games in the Italian Serie A. He joined the Italian Serie A team on loan from the Red Devils in 2011. Macheda had an attacking output of zero goals in three league clashes when he spent some time on loan at London team Queens Park Rangers (QPR) from Manchester United in 2012.

In 2013, Macheda failed to score in any of his 14 appearances for VfB Stuttgart in the German Bundesliga while he was on loan. He scored three goals in five league games. For his first loan spell at Doncaster Rovers in 2013, the striker scored three goals in five league games. In his second spell as a Doncaster Rovers player on loan from Manchester United, he scored zero goals in ten games.

Birmingham City were the next  club for Macheda in terms of going out on loan from Manchester United. He had the most successful spell on loan at Birmingham City with ten goals in 18 games.

The seventh and final loan spell for Federico Macheda came at Cardiff City. He was sent on loan to Nottingham Forest from Cardiff City.
