Federico Macheda has stated that he feel at home at his new club, Nottingham Forest. He is currently on loan from fellow Championship side, Cardiff City until the end of the season.
Speaking with journalists, Federico Macheda has stated that he felt at home with his new club despite still living in a hotel since his switch to Nottingham Forest. Macheda has also indicated that he will welcome the idea of a permanent deal with Forest if ever the opportunity arises in the future.
Macheda is determined to forget his bad spell at Cardiff City where his career was hindered by frequent injuries. He just wants to have an injury-free spell where he can enjoy his football and improve his performance on the pitch. He is aware that he needs to get more time on the pitch in order to recover and reach his full potential. Indeed, Federico Macheda has constantly been suffering from a back problem that has kept him from performing at his best.
He joined Forest on the 15th March and went directly into the first team for the night’s game against Hull City. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Injuries to key players such as Assombalonga, Fryatt and Oliveira means that Nottingham Forest is now short on strikers and would expect Macheda to not only provide a replacement for these players but also boost the attack. Indeed, Forest has struggled to score goals this term and as a result, their performance during recent weeks has plummeted.
Federico Macheda is a former Manchester United player that has made 36 appearances for the Red Devils and scored 5 goals in the process. This is not the first time that Federico Macheda has been on loan. While at Manchester United, he has been on loan to German sides Stuttgart, Doncaster Rovers as well as Birmingham City.
