Since being released by Manchester United, Federico Macheda has begun to rebuild his career by joining the English Championship League club Cardiff City and the Italian forward has stated that the primary objective of him and his team is to earn a promotion spot back to the Premier League.
That objective will not happen in this season as there are less than 4 league matches remaining in this campaign and Cardiff City is positioned in the middle section of the standings with more than 15 points of difference between their nearest playoff position.
Getting back to the Premier League might happen for Cardiff City in the upcoming season but in this one is impossible at this point in time.
Before making a move to Cardiff City, Macheda was a player of Manchester United but after failing to land a regular spot in the Premier League club he decided to switch somewhere where his chances of getting into the main team are higher.
“It was great to play at a big club like United, but you want to be playing regularly. Cardiff is a chance to restart my career and that is what I am aiming to do by working as hard as I can. Promotion is our plan off course and that is what we must be working towards. I want to prove myself to the manager, every season as a player you do have to prove yourself, but most of all the person I have to prove myself to the most is myself’’.saidMacheda.
Macheda has only been a player of Cardiff City for one season but he has already made 20 league appearances for the Championship League club which is a higher amount of matches than he has done in his entire career of Manchester United which extended for more than 5 years.
Switching to Cardiff City has been a step up in the career of Macheda as he gets the chance to play more regularly in the pitch and prove what he’s worth. In 20 appearances, Macheda has scored 6 goals and the Italian player is hoping he can improve this record by the next season.
