The striker of Manchester United, Federico Macheda, wants to take a transfer during the mid season transfer window. The 21 years Old Italian striker has not been getting playing opportunities at United and he is a bit frustrated due to that. Manchester United already has some very fine strikers in the form of Robin Van Persie, Javier Hernandez, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck. Macheda is behind all of them in the pecking order.
Macheda had been placed on loan to QPR in the second half of the last season. But, he didn’t get too many playing opportunities at QPR either. He featured for Mark Hughes’ team in only six games.
Macheda had played his last game for United in December last year. That was a Premier League match against Wigan Athletic in which United won by 5-0. Macheda had played as a substitute in that game. In the ongoing season, Macheda hasn’t featured for United even once so far.
During the pre season transfer window, the Turkish club Bursaspor wanted to sign Macheda on loan, but, Machester United didn’t place the Italian striker on loan.
A few days back, the agent of Macheda, Giovanni Bia, admitted that Macheda wants to leave Manchester United in January next year. Giovanni said, “There are some phenomenal strikers in the Manchester United squad and it is very hard for Macheda to make it to the starting XI.”
“Macheda wants to be given playing opportunities, but, it’s not likely to happen at United. We will look for another club for him in January. I will have a chat with Sir Alex Ferguson next week on this issue.”
“Hopefully, the authorities of United will understand the condition and will let Macheda go during the mid season transfer window.”
